Senior Phase: Grade 7 - 9

The Senior Phase marks an important stage in your child’s learning journey. From Grade 7 to Grade 9, learners move from guided learning to greater independence, preparing them for the demands of high school and beyond.
At Abishai Academy, we provide a structured yet flexible homeschooling curriculum that builds critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of subjects — while keeping learning engaging and relevant.
Our program equips learners with the academic foundations, life skills, and confidence they need to succeed in their future studies and personal growth.

What We Focus On in Senior Phase:

Compulsory Subjects: 
  • Language & Literacy – Advanced reading, writing, grammar, literature, and communication skills in both Home and First Additional Language 
  • Mathematics – Algebra, geometry, measurement, data handling, and problem-solving strategies.
  • Life Orientation – Guidance on health, values, decision-making, and preparing for real-world challenges.
  • Natural Sciences – Deeper study of physical sciences and life sciences, encouraging inquiry and experimentation.
  • Social Sciences – History and Geography topics that help learners connect the past, present, and future of societies and the environment.
  • Coding & Robotics – Exploring the basics of programming, automation, and problem-solving through technology and innovation.
Elective Subjects: (Must choose 2):
  • Creative Arts – Continued development of artistic, musical, and dramatic expression.
  • Economic & Management Sciences (EMS) – Introduction to business, economics, and financial literacy.
  • Hospitality Studies (Grade 8 - 9 Only) – Introduction to food, nutrition, and hospitality skills, encouraging creativity and practical knowledge in real-life contexts 
  • Technology – Practical problem-solving, design, and an introduction to digital and technical concepts.

All deposits are payable before student is successfully added to the system.
All deposits are non-refundable. Fees are payable over 10 months, with the last payment being made in October.
All fees mentioned above are subject to changes without notice and are reviewed on an annual basis.
PAYMENT METHODS:
All fees must be paid into the institution’s bank account Via EFT on or before the 3rd day of each month. All annual payments
are to be strictly paid by the 31st of January to receive the 10% discount.
